A Call to Pray, Think and Remember This Veterans Day (Video and Reflection)

This Veterans Day may we take up this simple challenge to Pray, Think and Remember those who serve our country. Each of us should be thankful that there are people who willingly put their lives at risk to protect our lives and freedom.  The framers of the Constitution spoke of a “More Perfect Union.”  One thing that helps us to be more perfect is the sacrifices we are willing to make for our neighbors.  Are we a perfect union?  Most would say no, were not perfect.  We have division and conflict.  At times our strength has been used for our own gain.  Yet, each day we are able to work towards making this nation a more perfect place thanks to those who have and still protect us.  This Veterans Day I challenge you to Pray for our nation and those who serve in its armed forces.  Pray for the families that are left waiting at home for safe return.  Think about all the liberties we enjoy because some have stood up and protected them.  Think about what your life would be like if this was not so.  Remember those who right now as you pray and think are in harm’s way.  Pray for a day when strife and war will cease and the work of Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Airmen would no longer be needed because Peace reigns in the world.  Until that day… Thank God for each of them.
